About Creator
Studio NAUTS is driven by me—Tyree McQueen—usually somewhere between a rock keyboard or a hard placed sketchbook bringing ideas to life. I’m an animator, illustrator, and designer based in the ever-busy New York City, who graduated from Fredonia State University with a BFA in Visual Arts & New Media. With two years of freelance experience, I am looking to grow within the industry while contributing a fresh, creative perspective to any team I’m part of.
When I’m not deep in the labor-intensive world that is art, you’ll probably find me at the gym, listening to new albums, or exploring the city’s nightlife (nothing toooo reckless, of course). My approach to animation, illustration, and design is rooted in experimentation—pushing visual boundaries and exploring abstract ideas that challenge the viewers perception and inviting introspection. Inspired by surrealism, avant-garde filmmaking, and pop culture, I use bold color schemes, dreamlike imagery, and layered compositions to create visually striking, reflective narratives that feel familiar while giving complex ideas the clarity they deserve.
